Urera baccifera (Scratchbush) is a species of shrub in the family Urticaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Mato Grosso, Piauí, Ceará, ParaíBa, AmazôNia, Rio Grande Do Norte, Sergipe, Espirito Santo, GoiáS, Paraná, Roraima, Tocantins, Alagoas, Rio De Janeiro, RondôNia, Cerrado, U.S. Virgin Islands, Mata AtlâNtica, Bahia, Distrito Federal, Maranhao, Rio Grande Do Sul, Pernambuco, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Puerto Rico, Caatinga, Minas Gerais, Acre (Brazil), Santa Catarina, Pará, SãO Paulo, and Amapá. They have simple, broad leaves. Individuals can grow to 6.5 m.
