Argemone mexicana (Mexican Poppy) is a species of annual herb in the family Papaveraceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, and The Contiguous United States. They have simple, simple leaves. Flowers are visited by Apis mellifera, Halictus poeyi, European honey bee, and Halictus ligatus. Individuals can grow to 1 m.
