Myrica gale (Bog Myrtle) is a species of shrub in the family Myricaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to North America, Canada, Eastern North America, Alaska, The Contiguous United States, and Saint-Pierre Et Miquelon. They have simple, broad leaves and blue flowers. Flowers are visited by Pearl Crescent, Platycheirus clypeatus, Neoascia podagrica, and Meliscaeva cinctella. Individuals can grow to 7 feet.
