Syringa vulgaris (Lilac) is a species of shrub in the family Oleaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They have simple, broad leaves and purple flowers. Flowers are visited by cabbage butterfly, Black Swallowtail, Indra Swallowtail, and Mordellistena. Individuals can grow to 20 feet.
