Podophyllum peltatum (Mayapple) is a species of perennial herb in the family Berberidaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Canada, The Contiguous United States, North America, and Eastern North America. They have simple, broad leaves and berries. Flowers are visited by Euvanessa, Homalomyia, Eurytoma, and Xylocopa virginica virginica. Individuals can grow to 0.4 m.
