They are native to Caatinga, Tocantins, Rio Grande Do Sul, Minas Gerais, Rio De Janeiro, Alagoas, Espirito Santo, Ceará, Pará, SãO Paulo, Paraná, Bahia, Acre (Brazil), Mato Grosso Do Sul, Pampa, Mata Atlântica, Pernambuco, GoiáS, Amazônia, Pantanal, Cerrado, Distrito Federal, Puerto Rico, Santa Catarina, The Contiguous United States, and Mato Grosso. They have compound, broad leaves. They have alternation of generations.
