Pterogyne nitens (Guiraro) is a species of tree in the family Fabaceae. It has a self-supporting growth form. It is listed as near threatened by IUCN. Guiraro is native to Pernambuco, Caatinga, Rio Grande do Norte, Rio de Janeiro, Mato Grosso do Sul, Mata Atlântica, Rio Grande do Sul, São Paulo, Sergipe, Alagoas, Cerrado, Paraíba, Minas Gerais, Ceará, Espirito Santo, Mato Grosso, Santa Catarina, Paraná, and Bahia. It has compound, broad leaves. It is a photoautotroph.
