Cercis canadensis (Eastern Redbud) is a species of tree in the family Fabaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Eastern North America, United States, The Contiguous United States, and Canada. They have broad leaves and purple flowers. Flowers are visited by Empis pudica, Eight-spotted Forester, bees & apoid Wasps, and Danaus plexippus. Individuals can grow to 30 feet.
