Vigna unguiculata (blackeyed pea) is a herbaceous species of plants in the family Fabaceae, and a climber. It has compound, broad leaves and purple flowers. Flowers are visited by Leaf-cutter and Resin Bees, Carpenter Bees, Leaf-cutter and Resin Bees, and Carpenter Bees. It is a photoautotroph.
