Rhododendron ponticum (Pontic Rhododendron) is a species of shrub in the family Ericaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Portugal, Spain, Georgia, Russia, Bulgaria, Turkey, and Lebanon. They have simple, broad leaves and capsule fruit. Flowers are visited by Eristalis horticola, bumblebee hoverfly, Chrysotoxum vernale, and Portevinia maculata. Individuals can grow to 3.6 m.
