Sphagnum perichaetiale (Sphagnum) is a species of woody mosses in the family Sphagnaceae. It is native to Paraíba, Mato Grosso do Sul, Pernambuco, Distrito Federal, Rondônia, Pampa, Minas Gerais, Roraima, Amazônia, Pará, São Paulo, Amazônia, Sergipe, Mata Atlântica, Rio Grande do Sul, Mato Grosso, Santa Catarina, Rio de Janeiro, Espirito Santo, Amapá, Bahia, Paraná, Cerrado, and Ceará. It is a photoautotroph.
