Xanthoxalis pygmaea Small, sp. now Stems spreading and creeping, filiform, several cm. long, glabrous, arising from very slender rootstocks ; leaflets bright-green, the blades 3-6 mm. wide, parted to near the base or to below the middle, with few hairs scattered along the margins ; peduncles much longer than the petioles; cymes 1-flowered ; pedicels glabrous; sepals about 3 mm. long at maturity, linear-oblong to linear-lanceolate, ciliate near the tip ; petals yellow, 9-12 mm. long ; filaments capillar.v, glabrous and unappendaged ; styles about as slender as the filaments ; capsules not seen.
Type collected in Cuba, C. Wright 2178. Distribution : Known only from the type locality.
