Der Sopramonte-Höhlensalamander (Hydromantes supramontis, Syn.: Speleomantes supramontis) ist ein Schwanzlurch aus der Familie der Lungenlosen Salamander (Plethodontidae). Sein Verbreitungsgebiet liegt im östlichen Teil von Sardinien.
Der Sopramonte-Höhlensalamander wird etwa 13 bis 13,5 cm lang. Die Schnauze ist abgerundet. Die Füße sind sehr groß, die Finger und Zehen stumpf und an den Enden verbreitert. Die Rückenfärbung und -zeichnung ist sehr variabel. Die Grundfarbe ist dunkelbraun bis schwarz mit gelblicher, graugrüner oder olivgrüner Fleckung oder Marmorierung. Der Bauch der Erwachsenen ist hell, meist mit einer variierenden Zahl dunkler Flecken.[1]
Die Art hat ein kleines Verbreitungsgebiet im zentralen bis nördlichen Ostsardinien, in der Provinz Nuoro. Dort lebt sie vor allem rund um den Golf von Orosei und im Hinterland bis zum Sopramonte di Orgosolo.
Von 106 bis 1360 m über NN. Es werden Steineichenwälder, mediterranes Buschland (Macchie) und mäßig bewachsene Felsareale besiedelt. Der Sopramonte-Höhlensalamander ist oft unter Steinen oder in Höhlen zu finden.
Oberirdisch nur in der Zeit vom Spätherbst bis zum zeitigen Frühjahr aktiv. Im späten Frühjahr ziehen sich die Tiere in unterirdische Lückensysteme zurück und legen in dieser Zeit ihre Eier, die die Weibchen bis zum Schlupf der voll entwickelten Jungen bewachen.
Trotz des kleinen Verbreitungsgebietes ist die Art nur gering gefährdet und an geeigneten Stellen oftmals in großer Zahl zu finden. Dennoch ist sie durch Lebensraumzerstörung bedroht.[1] Die IUCN listet sie in der Roten Liste gefährdeter Arten jedoch als stark gefährdet (endangered ) mit einem abnehmenden Populationstrend.[2]

Hydromantes supramontis est une espèce d'urodèles de la famille des Plethodontidae[1]. Elle peut être appelée en français Spélerpès de Supramonte.
Cette espèce est endémique de Sardaigne en Italie. Elle se rencontre de 100 à 1 360 m d'altitude, dans le massif du Supramonte, dans la région d'Orosei[1].

Il geotritone del Supramonte (Speleomantes supramontis (Lanza, Nascetti e Bullini, 1986)) è un anfibio urodelo endemico della Sardegna. È presente solo nel Supramonte da una quota di 100 m fino a 1300.
Molto simile a S. flavus, differisce sia per caratteristiche genetiche sia perché possiede una "fontanella intervomerina" ovvero un'apertura sul vomere più piccola rispetto al S. flavus visibile solo tramite radiografia.
La colorazione varia dal bruno porporino al giallo verdastro, mentre il ventre come in tutte le altre specie è privo di pigmentazione e risulta essere grigio - biancastro.
Rispetto alle altre specie dell'isola, ha le dita più tronche ma ha la lingua più lunga del genere Hydromantes e Speleomantes capace di una gittata di 6 cm.
Anche in questa specie le femmine sono più grandi dei maschi e arrivano rispettivamente a 14,3 e 13,5 cm. I giovani sono di colorazione più chiara tendente al verde olivastro.
Si ipotizza possa essere viviparo come lo S. sarrabusensis.
