Poa pratensis (Kentucky Bluegrass) is a species of perennial grass in the family True grasses. It has a self-supporting growth form. It is native to Greenland, Canada, Alaska, the contiguous United States, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Lithuania, Switzerland, Denmark, Poland, Georgia, Italy, Armenia, France, Mongolia, United Kingdom, Hungary, Greece, Iran, the Netherlands, Romania, Albania, Svalbard and Jan Mayen, Russia, Cyprus, Belgium, Portugal, Iraq, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, Belarus, Czech Republic, Spain, Norway, Pakistan, Estonia, Germany, India, Ireland, China, Yugoslavia, Syria, Ukraine, Sweden, Austria, Bulgaria, Moldova, Finland, and Latvia. It has simple, broad leaves and yellow flowers. Flowers are visited by Cynomyia Macquart 1835. It is a photoautotroph.
