Poa pratensis (Smooth Meadow Grass) is a species of perennial herb in the family True grasses. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Greenland, Canada, Alaska, The Contiguous United States, Eastern North America, North America, Western North America, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Lithuania, Switzerland, Denmark, Poland, Georgia, Italy, Armenia, France, Mongolia, United Kingdom, Hungary, Greece, Iran, The Netherlands, Romania, Albania, Svalbard And Jan Mayen, Russia, Cyprus, Belgium, Portugal, Iraq, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, Belarus, Czech Republic, Spain, Norway, Pakistan, Estonia, Germany, India, Ireland, China, Yugoslavia, Syria, Ukraine, Sweden, Austria, Bulgaria, Moldova, Finland, and Latvia. They have simple, simple leaves and yellow flowers. Flowers are visited by Hylotoma, Nomada parva, Rhamphomyia hirtipes, and Melanostoma scalare. Individuals can grow to 73.5 cm.
