Euphorbia hirta (Pillpod Sandmat) is a species of annual herb in the family Euphorbiaceae. It has a self-supporting growth form. It is native to US Minor Outlying Islands, U.S. Virgin Islands, the contiguous United States, Puerto Rico, Acre (Brazil), Ceará, Pampa, Espirito Santo, Roraima, Goiás, Caatinga, Tocantins, Rio de Janeiro, Alagoas, Mato Grosso, Sergipe, Mata Atlântica, Rio Grande do Sul, Maranhao, Bahia, Minas Gerais, Paraíba, Piauí, Paraná, Pernambuco, Rio Grande do Norte, Pará, Cerrado, Santa Catarina, São Paulo, Mato Grosso do Sul, Rondônia, Amazônia, Amazônia, and Distrito Federal. Pillpod Sandmat has simple, broad leaves. Flowers are visited by Pseudapis interstitinervis (Strand 1912). Pillpod Sandmat is a photoautotroph. Individuals can grow to 2.4 m.
