Margaritaria nobilis (Bastard Hogberry) is a species of tree in the family Phyllanthaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Roraima, Distrito Federal, Mata Atlântica, SãO Paulo, Minas Gerais, Pará, Amapá, Caatinga, U.S. Virgin Islands, Pernambuco, Rio Grande Do Sul, Amazônia, Rio De Janeiro, Cerrado, Santa Catarina, Acre (Brazil), RondôNia, Paraná, GoiáS, Puerto Rico, Maranhao, Bahia, Tocantins, Mato Grosso Do Sul, and Espirito Santo. They have simple, broad leaves and loculicidal capsule fruit. Individuals can grow to 17 m.
