Ostracoda (Ostracodes) is a group of oligostracan crustaceans. There are 6588 species of ostracodes, in 942 genera and 91 families. This group has been around since the Phanerozoic Eon. Ostracodes are surface deposit feeders. They have sexual reproduction. Reproduction is dioecious.
