Spots reddish, scattered, circular or subcircular in form, reaching a diameter of 2-3 mm., becoming confluent and often extending over half or the whole of the leaf-surface; pycnidia occurring on either side of the leaf, reaching a diameter of 75-150 fi; spores globose or sub-

globose, reaching a diameter of 5-6 fx.

Steironema ciliatum (L,-) Raf., New York. Type locality: North Greenbush, New York, on Steironema ciliatum. Distribution: Known only from the type locality.
