General Description

Herbaceous climber, with white lactices. Roots subglobose, about 2 cm in diameter. Stem much-branched. Leaves alternate, lanceolate, narrow-lanceolate or lanceolate-linear, 2-6.8 cm long, 0.4-1.6 cm wide, entire, lateral veins inconspicuous at upper surface, slightly raised at lower surface; petioles short, 1-7 mm long. Flower terminal or axially, lower part of pedicels with 2 leaf-like bracts; calyx 5-lobed, lobes narrow-triangular; corolla blue, broad campanulate, 5-parted to basal part, segments rectangular orbicular ovate, 1.2-3 cm long; stamens 5, lower part of filaments triangular, densely pubescent at margin; ovary semi-inferior, stigma large, 3-lobed. Fruits long-ovate, purple-brown.
