Small annual herb up to 15 cm, diffusely branched from base, hispid. Leaves linear, subtrigonous, somewhat fleshy, obtuse. Bracteoles densely hirsute. Flowers in subcapitate spikes; perianth segments long-barbate below, glabrous above. Filaments exceeding perianth; anther appendage purple, narrowly clavate, stipitate, broader than anther cells and about twice as long.
