Adult morphology Snout-vent 40-45 mm. Males smaller than females. Body stout, rounded; head wide, with snout sharply truncate, as large as the eye diameter. Nose swollen, nostrils dorso-lateral, protruding, at the tip of snout. Internarial interval equal to the interocular distance, narrower than upper eyelid. Canthus rostralis indistinct. Maxillary teeth very weak; vomerine teeth rudimentary in two small lines between the choanae. Eye prominent, antero-laterally located. Tongue cordiform, notched and free behind. Tympanum oval, distinct, 1/2 of the eye diameter. Supratympanic ridge wenlr. Fingers fringed; rate of the finger lengths: IV-II-I-III. Subarticular, palmar and metatarsal tubercles as in Pleurodema nebulosa and P. guayapae. Toes webbed at the base, widely fringed. Tarsal fold indistinct. When hindleg is adpressed, heel reaches the tympanum; when the femurs are bent at right angles to body, the tibio-tarsal articulations hardly touch. Dorsally closely granulous; a vestigial, flat and indistinct lumbar gland present. Belly smooth; closely granular on the lower surface od the thighs. Brownish or reddish on the back, speckled with dark little points or spots; a light creamish wash in the middle of the shoulder. Transverse dark bands on limbs; ventrally shitish, immaculate. Throat speckled with brown, darker on the gular folds which cover the vocal sac of males.
