The Degu is a small caviomorph rodent that is endemic to central Chile. It is sometimes referred to as the Brush-tailed rat, and is also called the Common Degu.www.degus.com/deguz.html
Species is now extinct. This specimen was collected, live, in the 1930s and was in Paignton Zoo, UK until its demise whereupon it was donated to the Royal Albert Memorial Museum, Exeter, UK
