Pluvialis squatarola (Black Bellied Plover) is a species of birds in the family Charadriidae. It is associated with freshwater habitat. It is found in Australasia, Oceania (Australia and islands), the Indo-Malayan Realm, the Nearctic, the Afrotropics, the Palearctic, and the Neotropics. Black Bellied Plover is a diurnal invertivore. Individuals can grow to 283 g. Reproduction is dioecious. Black Bellied Plover has parental care (pair provides care). It relies on flight to move around.
