It is native to Sri Lanka, Tajikistan, Bhutan, Vietnam, Cambodia, Iran, Southeast Asia, Laos, Nepal, Malaysia, Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, India, Uzbekistan, Bangladesh, China, Pakistan, Thailand, Egypt, Myanmar, and Lebanon. It is a diurnal omnivore. Individuals can grow to 143 g. Reproduction is dioecious. Common Myna has parental care (pair provides care).
