Egretta garzetta (Little Egret) is a species of birds in the family Ardeidae. It is associated with freshwater habitat. It is found in the Neotropics, the Afrotropics, the Indo-Malayan Realm, Australasia, Oceania (Australia and islands), and the Palearctic. Little Egret is a diurnal invertivore. Individuals can grow to 344 g. Reproduction is dioecious. Little Egret has parental care (pair provides care). It relies on flight to move around.
