Phoxinus colchicus Berg 1910

Females lay sticky eggs deep into clean gravel areas (Ref. 59043).

Found in a wide range of cold and well oxygenated habitats from small, fast-flowing streams to large rivers. Lives in groups. Occurs in association with salmonid fishes or cyprinids of barbel zone. Feeds on invertebrates, algae and detritus. Spawns in shoals over clean gravel bottom in flowing water (Ref. 59043).

Phoxinus colchicus is a species of minnow that was described in 1910.It is found in southern tributaries of lower Kuban River of Russia and Georgia.
