Penaeus monodon (Black Tiger Shrimp) is a species of decapods in the family penaeid shrimps. They are native to Indian Ocean, Asia, Pacific Ocean, Australia, the Palearctic, and Ethiopia. They are nocturnal carnivores. Individuals can grow to 35 cm. They have parental care (female provides care). They rely on drag powered swimming and swimming to move around.
