描述

體延長而呈圓柱狀，尾部側扁。吻部稍長。後鼻孔不為長管狀。上下頜彎曲明顯，以致於口部不能完全閉合。頜齒長，呈尖牙狀，明顯外露。脊椎骨數146-148。體為一致之紅褐色，鰭為深褐色，鰭緣不為黃色或白色。
棲地

主要棲息於位於拂浪區的珊瑚岩礁區域。喜歡隱藏在珊瑚頭下方或間隙中，伺機捕食魚類或頭足類為生，偶食甲殼類。
