描述

體延長而呈圓柱狀,尾部側扁。吻部稍長。後鼻孔不為長管狀。上下頜彎曲明顯,以致於口部不能完全閉合。頜齒長,呈尖牙狀,明顯外露。脊椎骨數146-148。體為一致之紅褐色,鰭為深褐色,鰭緣不為黃色或白色。
棲地

主要棲息於位於拂浪區的珊瑚岩礁區域。喜歡隱藏在珊瑚頭下方或間隙中,伺機捕食魚類或頭足類為生,偶食甲殼類。
