Agonostomus monticola és una espècie de peix de la família dels mugílids i de l'ordre dels mugiliformes.
Morfologia
Reproducció
És ovípar i els ous pelàgics.[6]
Hàbitat
És un peix de clima tropical (20°C-31°C)[7] i pelàgic-nerític.[4]
Distribució geogràfica
Es troba des de Carolina del Nord, Florida, Louisiana i Texas (Estats Units) fins a Colòmbia i Veneçuela, incloent-hi les Índies Occidentals.[4][8][9][10][11][12][13][14][15][16][17][18][19][20][21][22][23][24][25][26]
Ús comercial
És pescat i consumit a nivell local en alguns indrets de Centreamèrica.[4]
Observacions
És inofensiu per als humans.[4]
