Chaptalia tomentosa (Woolly Sunbonnets) is a species of perennial herb in the family Asteraceae. They are native to The Contiguous United States and The Neotropics. They have achenes. Flowers are visited by Toxomerus boscii and Eastern Carpenter Bee.
