Leaf-blades oblong, oblong-lanceolate, or ovate-oblong, mostly 15-40 cm. long, acuminate, glabrous, except sometimes for scattered hairs beneath, shining and slightly reticulate above, dull and prominently reticulate beneath, rounded or subcordate at the base, short-petioled ; infloresence paniculate, pyramidal ; sepals lanceolate to ovate-lanceolate, 3.5-5 mm. long, the glands about one half the length of the sepal-body or less; larger petals 5-6 mm. long; samaras 5-6 cm. long, the wing dilated upward, auricled at the base on the ventral side, the body crownless.
Type locality : West Indies. Distribution : Lesser Antilles.

Leaf-blades oblong to oblong-lanceolate, 9-20 cm. long, short-acuminate, glabrous, except sometimes for scattered hairs beneath, shining and rather faintly reticulate above, dull and prominently but rather finely reticulate beneath, obtuse or rounded at the base, short-petioled ; inflorescence paniculate, broadly pyramidal ; sepals lanceolate, 5-6 mm. long, the glands less than one half the length of the sepal-body ; larger petals 5.5-6.5 mm. long ; samaras 4-5 cm. long, the wing much dilated, broadly rounded on the ventral side, scarcely auricled, the body very large, crownless.
Type locality: French Guiana.
Distribution : Jamaica; also in northern South America.
