Opuntia is a genus of tree in the family cacti. They are listed in cites appendix ii. They are native to U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Eastern North America, The Contiguous United States, North America, Middle America, Canada, Western North America, US Minor Outlying Islands, and Atlantic And Gulf Coastal Plain (Agcp). Flowers are visited by Battus philenor, Diadasia australis, Heliomaster squamosus, and Lon melane vitellina. Individuals can grow to 0.5 m.
