It is native to Espirito Santo, Goiás, Cerrado, Alagoas, Rio Grande do Sul, Rondônia, Mata Atlântica, São Paulo, Mato Grosso, Ceará, Mato Grosso do Sul, Bahia, Amazônia, Santa Catarina, Distrito Federal, Paraná, Rio Grande do Norte, Sergipe, Minas Gerais, Pernambuco, Paraíba, and Rio de Janeiro. Mile A Minute Vine has simple, broad leaves. It is a photoautotroph. Individuals can grow to 6 m.
