Cyperus flavescens (Yellow Flat Sedge) is a species of annual herb in the family sedges. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Puerto Rico, SãO Paulo, AmazôNia, Ceará, Alagoas, Rio Grande Do Norte, Piauí, Canada, Cerrado, Espirito Santo, Santa Catarina, Mato Grosso, Mata AtlâNtica, Roraima, ParaíBa, Minas Gerais, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Sergipe, Pampa, Rio De Janeiro, Bahia, Paraná, GoiáS, Pernambuco, Caatinga, The Contiguous United States, and Tocantins. They have simple, broad leaves and red flowers. Individuals can grow to 2 feet.
