Perennial herbs with 5 – 10 (-15) cm tall, sparsely hairy, leafy sterile and fertile shoots from thick, much branched, ± woody rootstock. Leaves sparsely hairy above, densely villose below, basal and lower stem leaves petioled, ovate, 12 – 25 mm long, 6 – 10 mm wide, bipinnatisect into short, linear, incurved, acute ultimate segments, middle and upper stem leaves subsessile to sessile, gradually smaller in size. Capitula 6 – 8 mm across, on short hairy peduncles, (1-) 2-3 to several in congested, ± capitate, terminal corymbs. Involucre ±oblong-hemispherical, phyllaries elliptic, externally lanate hairy, somewhat dentate on brown-scarious margins, obtuse. Florets yellow, hermaphrodite, with cylindrical, 5-lobed corolla tube. Cypselas ?
