They are native to Bahia, Gabon, Rio De Janeiro, ParaíBa, Zimbabwe, Liberia, Cameroon, Caatinga, Maranhao, Ethiopia, Ghana, Guinea, Distrito Federal, Mozambique, CôTe D’Ivoire, Ceará, GoiáS, Guinea-Bissau, Tanzania, Cape Verde, Mali, Zambia, SãO Paulo, Mata AtlâNtica, India, Minas Gerais, Malawi, Gambia, Democratic Republic Of The Congo, RondôNia, Burkina Faso, Piauí, Mato Grosso, Cerrado, Rio Grande Do Norte, Benin, Kenya, The Hawaiian Islands, Uganda, Paraná, Pará, Togo, Pantanal, Sierra Leone, Roraima, AmazôNia, Nigeria, and Senegal. They have simple, broad leaves. Individuals can grow to 0.77 m.
