They are native to Amazônia, Gabon, Zimbabwe, Liberia, RondôNia, Cameroon, Maranhao, Bahia, Ethiopia, Ghana, Guinea, Paraná, Mozambique, Côte d’Ivoire, ParaíBa, Guinea-Bissau, Pantanal, Tanzania, GoiáS, Cape Verde, Minas Gerais, Pará, Mali, Zambia, Rio Grande Do Norte, India, Malawi, Gambia, Democratic Republic Of The Congo, Cerrado, Burkina Faso, Distrito Federal, Mato Grosso, Rio De Janeiro, Ceará, SãO Paulo, Benin, Roraima, Kenya, The Hawaiian Islands, Piauí, Caatinga, Uganda, Togo, Sierra Leone, Mata Atlântica, Nigeria, and Senegal. They have simple, broad leaves. Individuals can grow to 0.77 m.
