Cynoglossum officinale (Common Hound's Tongue) is a species of biennial herb in the family Boraginaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Latvia, France, Italy, Ukraine, Romania, Kyrgyzstan, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Norway, Greece, Sweden, Finland, Czech Republic, Belarus, Georgia, The Netherlands, Iran, Kazakhstan, Albania, Denmark, Yugoslavia, Hungary, Poland, Armenia, Austria, Spain, Russia, Turkey, Ireland, Estonia, Germany, Azerbaijan, Belgium, and Lithuania. They have simple, broad leaves. Flowers are visited by Trineura, Trichophora, apoid wasp, and Trupanea mevarna. Individuals can grow to 0.54 m.
