Heuchera caespitosa Eastw. Proc. Calif. Acad. II. 6: 426. 1896
Acaulescent, cespitose ; flowering branches 1-2 dm. high, glandular-puberulent above; petioles 2-3 cm. long, sparingly puberulent ; leaf-blades rounded-cordate, 1-1.5 cm. wide, minutely puberulent above, hirsutulous and glandular-puberulent beneath, 5-lobed ; lobes short, rounded-ovate with 3-5 ovate ciliate and bristle-pointed teeth ; hypanthium pinkish, glandular-puberulent and white-hairy, cylindro-funnelform, together with the sepals about 6 mm. long ; sepals oblong, obtuse, with green tips, the upper much longer ; petals spatulate, half longer than the sepals.
Type locality : San Emidia canon, Kern County, California. Distribution : Known only from the type locality.
