Rhododendron maximum (Great Laurel) is a species of tree in the family Ericaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Eastern North America, Canada, United States, North America, and The Contiguous United States. They have simple, broad leaves and red flowers. Flowers are visited by Hummingbird Clearwing, Yellowbanded bumble bee, and hummingbirds. Individuals can grow to 12 m.
