Saponaria officinalis (Bouncingbet) is a species of perennial herb in the family carpetweeds. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They have simple, broad leaves, purple flowers, and capsule fruit. Flowers are visited by Carpenter bee, silver y, Pandora Sphinx, and brimstone. Individuals can grow to 2.2 feet.
