They are native to Espirito Santo, Amazônia, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Piauí, Ceará, Minas Gerais, Mata Atlântica, Pará, Amapá, Tocantins, Cerrado, Maranhao, Rio Grande Do Norte, ParaíBa, Pernambuco, Roraima, RondôNia, Sergipe, Mato Grosso, Pantanal, Distrito Federal, Bahia, SãO Paulo, Acre (Brazil), Paraná, Alagoas, Caatinga, GoiáS, and Rio De Janeiro. They have compound, broad leaves. Flowers are visited by Glittering-throated Emerald. Individuals can grow to 6.9 m.
