Aeschynomene americana (Shyleaf) is a species of shrub in the family legumes. They are native to ParaíBa, GoiáS, Espirito Santo, Pantanal, Caatinga, SãO Paulo, Minas Gerais, Amazônia, Paraná, Puerto Rico, RondôNia, Distrito Federal, Mato Grosso, Ceará, Cerrado, Pará, The Contiguous United States, Mata Atlântica, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Rio Grande Do Norte, Piauí, Pernambuco, Rio De Janeiro, Acre (Brazil), Roraima, Maranhao, Bahia, Santa Catarina, and Tocantins. Flowers are visited by Barred Yellow.
