Desmanthus virgatus (Wild Tantan) is a species of shrub in the family Fabaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Cerrado, Rio Grande Do Sul, The Contiguous United States, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Puerto Rico, Rio De Janeiro, Caatinga, ParaíBa, Minas Gerais, Bahia, SãO Paulo, Santa Catarina, U.S. Virgin Islands, Espirito Santo, Pantanal, Ceará, Pernambuco, Mata Atlântica, and Paraná. They have compound, broad leaves and white flowers. Individuals can grow to 0.61 m.
