Filamentous, with falsely dichotomous branching; mostly uniseriate, delicate and forming golden brown tufts; cell walls indistinct, but more apparent in basal cells than in apical cells; zoospores released by dissolution of cell walls; zoospores with longer anteriorly directed flagellum and shorter posteriorly directed flagellum; flagella inserted laterally; eyespot absent; marine.
