Description

Completely hairless shrub up to 4 m tall. Leaves up to 12 × 13.5 cm, palmately 5-lobed when mature, leathery, deeply cordate at the base; lateral veins 12-14 pairs per lobe, looping back on to each other before the entire margin; petiole 4 - 6.5 cm long. Inflorescences in terminal flattened heads, up to 10 cm long. Flowers unisexual, greenish tinged pink. Fruit a 3-lobed capsule, c. 1.7 × 1.5 cm,finely wrinkled and covered with small wart-like protuberances.
