Atherina boyeri (Big Scale Sand Smelt) is a species of bony fishes in the family Old World silversides. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They are omnivores. Individuals can grow to 20 cm. They have sexual reproduction. Reproduction is oviparous and iteroparous.
