Description: Characterized by brownish color with strong white, irregular mottling; first 18 dorsal rays, branched; anal rays branched except first two rays; caudal rays 18; absence of pectoral fins; lateral line of eyed side unbranched with 86 scales, including 10 anterior to upper end of gill opening; presence of caudal peduncle; ctenoid scales; tubular anterior nostril nearly reaching front edge of lower eye when laid back; front of snout and ventral side of head with well-developed cirri; depth of body 2.6 in SL (Ref. 90102).
