Plectranthias kamii Randall 1980

Color when fresh, body with 2 series of darker blotches: first series on nape and upper half of body with 8 blotches (2nd-4th blotches extend below lateral line); second series with 4 blotches, the latter 2 fused with upper series at caudal peduncle; all fins reddish or reddish yellow and with no dark spot. Body depth 1.9 in SL. Third dorsal spine longest 3.7 in SL; uppermost of pectoral fin rays unbranched. Oblique rows of scales on cheek 6. Gill rakers elevated 1-9. Supraneural bones 3 (Ref. 43101).

分布於太平洋區，包括日本、帛琉、薩摩亞、法屬玻里尼西亞及台灣等。台灣南部海域有產。

小型花鱸，不具經濟性之魚種。偶以延繩釣或一支釣等捕獲，產量極為稀少。可食用。

體長橢圓形，側扁而略高，標準體長為體高之2.3-2.8倍。頭背部略為弧形；眶間區平坦。眼稍大，長於或等於吻長。口大；上下頜前端具小犬齒。鰓耙數5-6+11-13，隨成長而漸退化。前鰓蓋骨下緣具二枚前向棘。體被細小櫛鱗，主上頜骨及頤部無鱗；頰部鱗列數6；側線完整，側線鱗孔數35-37，側線上鱗列數5 1/2。背鰭鰭棘部與軟條部相連，具缺刻，具硬棘X，軟條17-18，第III棘最長；臀鰭硬棘III枚，軟條7；腹鰭腹位，末端延伸不及肛門開口；胸鰭延長，中央之鰭條長於上下方之鰭條，鰭條 13，部份鰭條有分支；尾鰭內凹形。頭背側橘黃色，背側中部具一條金黃色縱帶，頭腹側淡色。體側橘黃色，具二列黃褐色班塊：第一列有6個位於背部上，另兩個在尾柄上；第二列有4個，後兩個在尾柄上。以前所記載之擬棘花鱸(/Plectranthias anthioides/)為本種之誤鑑，此魚體背側具黑斑；胸鰭鰭條 15；腹鰭末端延伸及肛門開口；尾鰭圓形。

主要棲息於較深水域的岩礁區。底棲性。內食性，以小型魚類及甲殼類為食。
