Polygonum aviculare (Prostrate Knotweed) is a species of perennial herb in the family Polygonaceae. It has a self-supporting growth form. It is native to Santa Catarina, São Paulo, Rio Grande do Sul, Paraná, Minas Gerais, and Mata Atlântica. Prostrate Knotweed has simple, broad leaves. Flowers are visited by Syritta pipiens (Linnaeus 1758). Prostrate Knotweed is a photoautotroph. Individuals can grow to 0.26 m.
