És un peix marí, demersal i de clima temperat (60°N-41°N) que viu entre 0-415 m de fondària.[6][10]
Distribució geogràfica
Es troba a l'Atlàntic nord-occidental: des de la badia d'Ungava (el Quebec, el Canadà) fins a Nova York (els Estats Units).[6][11][12][13][14][15][16][17][18][19][20]
